AZA SAFE Penguin Identification Project 

In 2016 AZA SAFE Penguin Identification project placed 1,300 transponders on African Penguins to monitor the penguin population. In 2017 the AZA SAFE Penguin Identification project sent 3,500 population monitoring transponders to continue our work with partners in Africa.
